Through a love-dislike relationship with computer science in college and then at Microsoft, I developed a soft corner for writing. It perhaps started only as a ranting mechanism; but over the years, writing has steadily grown into a passionate pursuit. I will always be grateful to fiction and poetry for I would not have found the guts to quit my job and take a leap into the social and behavioral sciences if not for the strength that writing gave me. I now study social psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Even now, when days darken and academia leaves me consumed and alone, I find breath and intimacy in the rawness of poetry.
